Production area

Grapes for this village appellation from the Côte de Beaune are harvested within the delimited areas of the village of Volnay. Its vineyards cover a surface area of 220 hectares of which 132,54 hectares are classified as Premier Cru.

Origins

The small village of Volnay is located to the south of the town of Beaune. Its vineyards produce exclusively red wine.

Tasting notes

COLOUR : Amber red, intense and brilliant.
NOSE : 
An incomparable bouquet with predominant floral and fruity notes, especially violet, raspberry and blackberry.
PALATE :
Classy, noble and refined with elegant roundness. This feminine wine is one of the finest examples from the Côte de Beaune.

Vinification and maturing

Vinification takes place in wooden vats and is followed by 14 to 16 months barrel ageing (20% new oak).

Food and wine pairing

Enjoy with poultry (roasted or glazed), feathered game and spicy dishes like tajine. For the cheese board, it suits distinctly flavoured cheeses like Morbier or Bleu d'Auvergne.
