Production area

A "village" appellation which holds its name from the town of Beaune. It covers 450 hectares, 322 of which are classified as Premier Cru.
The right to use the words "Premier Cru" is a distinction granted to certain climats whose wines are traditionally highly regarded because of their greater quality. It generally concerns the plots best exposed and/or with the best terroir. These climats (the Burgundian word for a specific plot) are specially delimited. Only 11% of wines produced in Burgundy can claim this honour.
"Les Marconnets"climat extends over 9.39 hectares. Its name is derivated from ancient French, "marc" meaning "swamp", because we found evidence of a source running through the plot in the past.
