Production area

Santenay, lying at the southern extremity of the Côte de Beaune, is home to both the nymph of water and the god of wine: it is both a spa and a winegrowing centre. The wines of Santenay present discernible differences according to which part of the appellation they hail from.
Santenay, so often associated with reds, reveals here a different face — radiant and refined Santenay, naturally associated with reds, reveals a completely different face here, luminous and racy. Sourced from plots located high up in the village.

Origins

The vineyard stretches over the gentle slopes of the Côte, providing the vines with optimal sun exposure. The soils of Santenay are clay-limestone, with vines averaging around 40 years of age.

Varietal

100% Chardonnay.

Tasting notes

COLOR: Pale and luminous yellow, with a bright shine that highlights the wine’s freshness.
NOSE: Delicate aromas, combining subtle floral notes with fruity hints (ripe pear, Golden apple).
PALATE: Lively, crisp attack that brings freshness, balanced by oak contributing roundness and a touch of sweetness. Silky texture with a fine grain, leading to a harmonious and persistent finish.

Vinification and maturing

The grapes were hand-harvested in mid-September 2024, then carefully sorted to retain only the finest clusters. They were then pressed in a pneumatic press, ensuring precise and gentle juice extraction while preserving the fruit’s integrity. Vinification took place in a temperature-controlled stainless-steel tank, followed by gravity-fed transfer into oak barrels.
The wine was then aged for 13 months on fine lees, without bâtonnage, with about 35% in new barrels.
Bottled in autumn 2025 after fining and filtration.

Food and wine pairing

Its lightness, vivacity and edge would be a good choice for fluid and creamy dishes like fish couscous, or pasta or risotto with mushrooms. Poultry in cream sauce would similarly hit the spot. It would harmonize well with cheeses like Comté, Beaufort, and goat cheeses.
